Yesterday marked the 1st day of the Esssential 21/30 Nutrition Program. This is a 30 day nutrition program founded by Coach Jarrod Freshour and Coach Eric Burnett of Westlake Crossfit. I decided to start this challenge for a few reasons. One, it's been 6 months since I have been on a STRICT nutrition plan. I typically only adhere to said nutrition plans when Im gearing up toward certain competitions, and since injuring myself and didn't have this reason. Now with that being said, I am still committed to eating clean and healthy competition or not. The main things I mean by strict is absolutely no "cheat meals" , alcohol and fats with every meal (including snacks). Well the 21/30 plan starts off with a "STRICT" 21 days - which means I will again have to bypass the occasional bun with my burger and not have any social drinks. These are probably the two biggest adjustments for, along with eliminating cheese. This 21 day strict will be essential in restoring the body away from metabolic derangement. The 2nd reason I'm doing this is for the reason of being able to relate to what our members may be experiencing as they embark on the same journey. The 3rd reason is to help get me back to preparing my own food, right now about 75 percent of my weekly meals are eaten "out. The challenge should be fun and I'm excited to see where this takes my overall wellness!
