Austin City Limits 09

(Waiting for Thievery Corp.)

Friday at ACL was unreal. The weather and the newly laid down grass added to the great performances. This was my first time attending ACL , and it for sure won't be last. The day/night was filled with some memorable performances but Thievery Corparation and Kings of Leon jammed out big time. Bassnector was another group I thoroughly enjoyed...the mix of dub , dropbeat and hiphop into an electro sound hand people moving and grooving.

After mixing it up with Bassnectar it was time to get ready for Thievery Corporation...a group I've have been wanting to see live. Thievery was playing at the same time as John Legend ..after taking a group vote, it turned out we would be heading to the livestrong stage to watch Thievery Corp put on a performance for the ages. We made our way to front center stage and watched this incredible set. Playing classics such as "Amerika" and "Richest man in Babylon"the group brought tons of energy. After experiencing and hr of euphoria I was wondering how anyone could top Thievery's set. But if anyone could , for sure it would be the headliners of the night Kings of Leon.

KOL did not disappoint. These guys rock out with a ton of passion. Being relatively new .... you can feel their desire to give their fans 100%! The band ended their set with a song that included Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder. All in all ..what an incredible day!
